In Forgetting, You Were Found.
You must get lost before you know what you are looking for and where you are going.
Setting out with one ideal in mind, you quickly realize the path you walked upon has led you into the Wilderness. Darkness set's in and the trees cast their shadow upon you from all sides. The Canopy of Stars all appear the same: not one shines brighter than the other to lead you out of this mysterious abyss.
The one you called Father grows indifferent with every step. His voice no longer a whisper, that once led the way. You are fully alone. Creatures do not creep. They do not moan on this dark night. Your heart races with indecision, as the tears unwillingly stream from your face.
"Which way do I take?" you cry aloud. Frozen your heart sinks with despair. All confidence falters. All vision dies. False voices fill your mind with roadmap deceit. You are tugged to and fro by their convincing tones. "If only I could get to higher ground perhaps these voices will fade," you say. You begin to run as branches grab at your sleeves. "Do not look back." Forgetting what you had set out to do...your mind begins to clear.
Heavy breathing, sweaty palms; swollen feet. The hours passed aggressively. The Forest did not yield it's mighty hand. However, something new formed inside of your heart. The fear of the unknown caused you to forget. To forgot your past. To forgot your future hopes. Left with a numbing sensation of openness... something new emerged and your eyes were open. The Wilderness that once felt cold and grim began to sparkle with dew. And light peered through the darkness. It was not a natural light but the light of the soul. Becoming lost you were found. Found in the reality of letting go.
Your hasting feet slowed. Your wrestling spirit subsided. As you pulled back the branches you caught a glimpse of a golden Valley. In forgetting you were found.
